Hi all, I'm really keen to buy this coin when it comes out - and would sell my first born son to buy the two already released and sold out. Are there any dealers here who will reserve a roo for me when it is released? I can't remember which CCF members are dealers, but I have over 50 posts now and by CCF rules I am allowed to buy from CCF members (but not sell). http://www.perthmint.com.au/catalog...-series.aspxIf anyone out there also wants to sell either of the first two ( Kookaburra and emu) I am a very interested buyer . Thanks, M

There's a local coin shop near me, I can usually get coins at release price for people. But the Kookaburra is sold out now, and can't get them anymore, not even in special backorders. I did an order for another CCF member a while ago for that coin. I think the shop still has the emu coin. They had 2 on the shelf, but one had a crushed box and I told the person to send it back for another one. I would be more comfortable dealing with people with higher posts tho. Did a check on ebay and the emu is selling for around release price; cleaver bidding you could probably get it under release.

Thanks Australian Coin for the reply and info, despite my not understanding why it matters that I don't have more posts ...
And the chirping cricket like silence I have noticed in response to most of my posts ...
It makes me wonder if I have unwittingly broken some CCF unwritten rule, especially when I see members with less posts than myself receiving coin favours, and members also inviting private communications etc with same.
Beats me ...
So, in lieu of CCF member's brotherly offers of help for a fellow coin enthusiast, I went on the Aussie Post website and found an Emu for $109, no postage.

awildeheart I'm with you. I don't understand why someone wouldn't feel comfortable selling either. You are paying them and when they receive the money the product ships. In my mind it's the seller you have to trust since there is no protection like ebay offers.

Or it may just be that no one has a spare one to offer you. I had the opportunity to get these but declined because quite frankly I plain don't like them. They are purely a trinket and not a coin IMHO. If you wanted some coin that I am comfortable with letting go I would have PM'ed you as soon as I noticed your request and I am sure that there are plenty of fellow CCF'rs that would do the same. Australian Coin jumped in early and gave you the same advice I would have, So please don't get put out if there are no or slow answers on the forum, I tend to feel that most users here WILL help out if they can

my post office will put in mint orders for me if I let them know before they get them, means I need to read the catalogue and then go tell them which one, but when it arrives I get a phone call and they hold it until I go pick it up, cant get any better than that for cost price.

I like all people on the CCF everyone is welcome and everyone is treated with respect.
There is no such thing as an instant magical answer to questions, this is a forum for people and by people and as such it takes human response time, if we don't know an answer to a question it is usually left blank.
Post number doesn't mean that much in the meaning of things, someone could have 10 posts but if I know them well enough, I would happily give them a coin free.
I just don't fell comfortable with a $100 item, to someone I don't know. I have to buy it from the coin shop then spend time and effort packaging it and posting the item too. I don't exactly live in a city either. And I don't make a cent on it, I do it in good faith for fellow CCF members.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I guess what mainly put my nose out of joint was Quote: I just don't fell comfortable with a $100 item, to someone I don't know. Any coin transaction I have ever undertaken anywhere has involved my ponying up the money first and the coin being sent second. It never entered my mind that Australian Coin would send a $100+ coin without first receiving money - a process which equals not having any risk at all or needing to feel comfortable in dealing with me. I would have thought dealing with a forum member was much less risky than dealing with the general public, which I thought Australian Coin did. Sorry if I offended anyone.
