The thing is.... The coins are not accurate. Not the same size, and the large cents used to have the WORDS spelling one, not 1!

I assume because of that, you did not order a set. Btw, the 5oz penny is not the same size either and nor is the 1/2 oz or the 1/25th gold penny.

Yeah, but a small cent sized large cent? That's just weird. The point was to commemorate the pennies struck at the RCM, but two of them never were struck like they are being presented.

They had the tooling for both large cents. They did sets with them in 1998 (mint 90th) and 2011 (100th anniversary of 1911 dollar). It shouldn't have been too difficult to make accurate sized versions. It would seem to require MORE effort to create the miniatures.

The number of listings has decreased to 14 using the search parameter "farewell to the penny set". Still holding at $300.

Canada Post never listed the 5 coin penny set on their website. Some people were able to order the set from their local post offices.

I believe Canada Post was alloted only a small amount of the sets and they sold out very rapidly through the local CP outlets. Local POs told me they were allowed to order only one set of the coins.

My local PO lady told me she order 3 sets and they were all spoke for. That was a couple of weeks ago.

IMO, there is no chance that you will find this set at issue price. I hope I am wrong.

I don't know if she told you by mistake or whatever reason. As I know, every PO only allows to order 1 set.
Or maybe she has her way to get more.

This thread is a poll. 18 people indicated that they ordered more than 3. Similarly, 20 indicated that they ordered 3 so it's safe to say, lots of folks ordered 3 or more.
