Won't this go back to issue price once the hoarders all get their shipment?

if the ladybug tulip coin with 5000 mintage is selling easily for 900 to 1000, how would this coin with lower mintage and a more important subject revert to issue price. its also 5 times the size of the lady bug.

I called CanadaPost this morning (just after 9am ET). They still had a few 5oz Farewell coins left - at the RCM issue price of CAD495.95.
Historically, RCM 5oz silver coins haven't done well due to huge mark-up (for comparison, the US Mint 5oz ATB numismatic issues cost $204.95 - less than half right now! - but it's also a 25k mintage for the 2012 issues vs. 1.5k for the Farewell one). But I agree with john100 that the theme will likely help the coin appreciate in future. It's not going to go for $1k (at least imho), but who knows...

if you are going to spend 1000.00 on a coin which would you choose, a glass bug or a large silver penny? coins are different from bullion value, if you just look at the silver value of 5 oz. you should just buy bullion for 36.00 per

Luckily I grab two of these 5 oz Penny at issue price. Now, seeing that Gatewest Coins has increased their price makes me wished I grab another one. Just give it time, I think we will see $700 bid on ebay for these very soon.

You paid the mint over $500 with shipping. So you need at least $567.

@shopaholic

Very good question. IMO it should be sold at around 600 at ebay (excluding shipping charge) to break it even?

I will not even touch this coin if I was a hoarder...LOL

@Panda: I don't sell my collections, so the resale price isn't a big consideration for me. And I have already spent more than I should this month... :(
