After years of watching 'auctions' it is quite odd. I've seen gatewest still having coins at original price, yet auctions on ebay are going up and over double the price. A simple google search could save people money, but they like the 'thrill' of the auction - and of course, overbid themselves.....just to win.

I'm tired of collecting coins and running through hoops to get a coin at issue price. What is a person supposed to do?

It's not too hard to get a coin at issue price.

ebay is out of the question now. Canada Post is the only option unless the RCM happens to find some extra coins they forgot to include.

up till this past week, Talisman had the 5 oz for $20 cheaper than the mint ($479.99) but I just saw them jack up the price to $599 with $100 saving from reg $699.99. cough cough cough.

Anyone could have had this one for issue price. It released to the general public. And did not sell out right away.

Those who want to buy at Gatewest Coins at a lower price better hurry because they follow ebay trends. When a coin goes up on ebay, so does the price on Gatewest.

It's been at that price for a while, I think they're worried about it going up further.

I've seen all three pennies in person now (the 1/25oz gold, the 1/2oz silver and the 5oz silver). I still maintain that the 1/2 oz silver (with the pink leaves) is the best looking of the bunch.

Feel free to disagree with me....but you'd be wrong. :P
