Well throughout WWII, cipster.
Circulating along side the Buffaloes and Jeffersons, these nickels found their way into many a phone booth
as as mom or dad called the kids to say that they were working a second shift at the defense plant.
"Kids, there is a can of SPAM on the shelf. Do the best that you can. We are all in this together."

Paleoguy45, how much time do I have left? Could you suggest a specialist? Shall I update my Will?
Can I extend my life with a well-balanced diet of alcohol, nicotine and Twinkies?

Moe, at least I have not had a nightmare about you ....YET!

Gee, getting tougher and tougher to get a laugh in this topic.

@Matt. Hopefully your time left is at least fifty years. The M O E virus is like herpes - once you've caught it, it's ALWAYS lurking. Best advice is to ENJOY THE RIDE!!! (Your heirs will thank you) PG

If folks posted more pictures of "V" nickels here we would not be forced to fill in the gaps with humorous quips. Gee, the Carson City "days of"
was a LOT busier than we have been.

These nickels were hard workers and except for the 1883 No Cents were in use daily and for a long time.

Just go on ebay and see how many AU+ coins there are in this coin type.

(I'll give you a hint... Few.)

That's what makes these wonderful coins on this thread so nice!

Beautiful coins everyone. I can't wait to post my one good V nickel and my two bad Vs. Although no V nickel is ever bad, some are just not as good. Mine are all above the 1900s. Anyway keep on posting your beautiful nickels.
