Did anyone come up with a full set price yet?

The set is "priced on request" which means I will discuss with a serious buyer but wouldn't want the world to know what that buyer paid. Some like to keep that information confidential. I will say it is into the six figures.

By the way, for those who haven't seen the dollar image, here it is. Again, photos by John Baumgart (Messydesk).

This is a fantastic set that really shows how well the US Mint could make wonderful coins 120 years ago.

So why can't the US Mint make such nice coins again with all of the newfangled hardware they have these days?

Knowing that John did the images, I understand why they look so stunning. And knowing John's work, you may assume that's exactly what they look like. There are few who can capture the true character of a coin as well as John.

Nice set I would put the value at about $125,000. The jewels are the two MS-68 DCAM pieces but that half dollar is not too shabby either !
