I unloaded all of mine for $135 + $9 shipping on average. Less than expected but OK.

Yeah, I think I'm better off still trying to unload it on the Bay, after looking over the return policy where I'd have to pay return shipping. I'm picking it up today, maybe after seeing it in person I'll want to keep it!

That is a profit of $10 after the ebay fees. It just seem not worth the small amount given the time and effort to list, package, and mail the item. BTW, how did you manage to ship it for $9? Especially if you have to ship across Canada where it can cost as much as $15-$16. Plus I ship in a box to prevent damage. That adds to the cost.

MoneyPenny, In general I barely break even on shipping, if not losing a bit. (some buyers still think I overcharge!!) But I was lucky to sell in the states - where I live. $10 is obviously not worth the trouble, but I saw the price drop so quickly that I was happy to get my money back.

I just doubt the value of the coin will persist. Lets assume a new buyer wanna buy this coin and he does a research and find there might be two batches of the coin in the market. He will think twice to avoid buying the 1st batch by all means. So what will happen then? He will just offer a low and safe price in case he get a problematic one. Nobody will pay high premium for a 'mixed' type coin for sure...

It looks like the whole coin flipping market is starting to collapse on itself. I remember people rushing to buy all the Bateman's, Two Loons, Niobium's. The market for coin flipping is dwindling. Even the Glow in the Dark coin is free falling.

Glow in the Dark should be boucing back when the second one comes out. I believe that way because I have a big stock at home. LOL

How many hard core collectors are there anyway? Do think the average kid cares about a Robert Bateman coin. Sure, a glow in the dark coin but the novelty fades fast. This flipping reminds of the early 1990s card collecting mania. Once that died, card prices dropped and some cards became worthless.

It would be nice to see the supply vs demand curve back to those that really want them, without the artificial demand created by flippers. There were issues that I was disappointed not to be able to purchase at the mint.
Before this flipping thing started, the value of the coins was based on actual quantity sent out to the public. If the issue was for 20,000 and they only sold 6000, then there wasn't some hoarder sitting on 14,000 coins in a warehouse.
