This is an actual Klingon attempt to counterfeit our coins. Since it takes so many years for our TV commercials, advertisements and the Littleton letters to get to the Klingon Empire, the photos get distorted and this is what they think our Cents look like.
OR
This is the results of handing a little kid a Copper coin and they put it in their mouths after eating candy.

It looks like it could be a TERRIBLE attempt creating a counterfeit by casting.
