Quote: hey guys I got some pennies a farthing and a six pence for 50 cents what do you guys think? You did Okay, It's a good start! The earlier pennies don't typically sell for any less than 50 cents EACH in the mixed bins at coin shows or even online auctions..

It is not a bad lesson for 50 cents. If they are worth between 0 and 50 cents you've done well

Shon, I buy those pennies too. My kid loves them. The guy that I meet up with at the bootsale over here sells them 7 for a £ ($1.60 ish). We also get the half pennies from the same era. He loves them, so that love is what we are paying for.

The sixpence is also good. You've easily covered 50 cents.

of the other side! Edit: With pictures, it looks dipped. Not bad for a cleaned coin! If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay?

$300. The dealer told me it should be $600 if not cleaned.

Just trying to get through a large collection I inherited a number of years back but am just now starting to work my way through. There are a fair number of British coins, lots of smaller denominations but this is the coin that really caught my eye. An 1892 British crown correct? Being completely new to this I have no idea of grading or anything like that, but I really do like the look of it. You don't get to see a lot of these laying around in Northern Canada.

It is a crown in F condition. A few dings and knocks but a nice lump of silver.

You know I love the Crown commems. It would have been such a better coin though as a young Vic. I love the design of this coin, and I love all of the Young Vics. The mating of the two would have made it an absolute must for me. I would have bought everyone of them that I could find regardless of condition. For me though without the two halves together, I think I'm just going to go with a 1951, same design and I can find one in nicer condition within my price range. Don't get me wrong, still an awsome coin!

I have about a dozen boxed 1951 crowns.I can't resist them...if only they were silver.
