I agree the back up was for a long term shutdown. IT was probably actually safer to just give the NYSE a holiday during the Sandy disaster.

To some maybe, I actually agree with the move not to immediately open. The last thing we need is another wild card thrown into the mix, giving people a day or two to get over the initial shock wasnt a bad idea
