Ive been selling on
ebay for about 2 months now and I can give you a few hints from mistakes I made.
Spend the extra 10 cents and use the designated time auction ends. I usually use 7PM because Pacific time is the time used on
ebay. Means you can get Eastern till 10PM. Had one of my auctions go off at 3 in the morning.
Don't go overboard on your description but make sure you get it right.
Check your category closely that the coin will be put into. Don't put
Ike dollars in with Lincoln cents as I did.
Use ebays labeling for shipping. Could not be easier and saves money over the PO because you get tracking for free where the PO charges almost a dollar extra for tracking.
I found that coins seem to do better on Friday through Sunday so that's when I have them listed to end for. This is just my opinion. I like to use 5 days for a listing.
Big topic. Don't overwhelm yourself by putting too many to go off at the same time. Do 3 or 4 the first couple of times. Space them out to have them go off 10 minutes or so apart so your not bouncing back and forth.
You can revise them after they are listed so a listing is not definite. I do it on a regular basis.
Don't let one low price sale bother you.
Do remember when its time to pay up
ebay will take about 10 percent off the top of your selling price. They will be giving you a running list of the costs.
Almost forgot. Buy yourself a small $3-4 dollar food scale or your will be constantly on the Forum ask these members how much this and that weighs, etc. But they will be glad to help you anyway.
That's it. I can say its been very easy because
ebay and PayPal does most of the work like invoices, etc. Of course for 9% they should. I found the hardest part was putting the packages together.
You can look at my sales for info. Its under xyguy12 on
ebay. Got rid of close to 200 wheat rolls and 50 PCGS slabs so far. They were only sitting around anyway. Next its on to military stuff and my toy trains.
Just my opinions and thoughts
