so asyn is not only known for his bad grading, he's also known for his reputation of his packages NOT getting to the buyers.
i purchased 44.06$ before taxes worth of bills from him on November 4th 2012, I have contacted him time and time again, after finally a week he replied "it is too soon to do anything" after looking at his feedback, all the negative feedback is about how he waited until the time was up and pretty much locked sellers into a loss.
what should I do, it's been almost a month since it was SHIPPED. I've purchased from him before and it's always taken less than a week, should I open a dispute on paypal, what should I do!

Dispute on PayPal, but know that he will block you from his auctions.

My thoughts are if you haven't received the item by the 45 day deadline (I think that's the deadline) to open a dispute. Tell the seller that you have to do this to protect yourself and if the package comes before the dispute settles then cancel the dispute. And if the package comes after you've been reimbursed do the honest thing and pay him. For sellers shipping without tracking they should respect the fact that you have to think of your best interests and not theirs. They aren't thinking of you. If he blocks you as a buyer he's a horrible business person and no loss.

Unfortunately that's the nature of the Paypal game. The seller's on the hook for any losses unless it's shipped with tracking and then who would pay $10+ shipping on a $5 or less coin? With the sheer volume those guys sell and ship every day something is bound to go missing (Canada Post only claims a 96% rate of meeting their delivery goals after all). So don't take it personally. Just open the claim as you are entitled to (and did) and move on. You'll get your money back once the waiting period expires. Never, ever let that initial 45 days expire without opening the case. No matter what the seller says, promises, explains or excuses.

If the seller is from Canada, I usually only give them about a week or 2, from the date they changed the status to shipped, to contact them and open a case with Paypal a few days later. If the seller is from U.S, I would give them another week. Always open a case with Paypal before the 45 days end. If the item arrived, you can always cancel your dispute after with no harm done.

All great advice given Jake....I have nothing to add. Glad you opened the case. I have purchased from this seller and did not have a problem....I count my blessings. This was way back in the begining of my ebay days.

Lostwords About a week or 2. That's brutal IMHO. I hope it's closer to 2 than 1.

I don't think thats brutal. If the seller isn't going to give good service and fast shipping they shouldn't be on ebay. Two weeks max. for shipments from canada and three weeks for shipments from the US. I usually only buy from Top Rated Sellers, and sellers who ship within 1-2 days of receiving payment. I recently bought from a TRS who said they shipped within 1 day of receiving payment. After 5 days I had to contact him and ask if I had won the item or not? After 3 weeks I opened a dispute and after 4 1/2 weeks I got the item. I feel if you don't give good service you deserve a dispute.
