Small dollars might be the way to go for the next few months since I've been striking out on silver lately. It seems like there are still quite a few 99-P's and a few 79-P near dates in small dollar boxes.

How can you tell it is a wounded eagle, and not just a regular golden dollar?

If you look on the back, there's a spear going through the belly of the eagle thus the "Wounded Eagle". That looks like a pretty good grade there as well Imatty35

For the first time in about six months, I finally decided to try a box of coin hunting. I had $1000 on hand, and the bank had a $500 box of halves, but it seems like they were the customer wrapped variety that was done by a another collector who re-rolled them, and I've had terrible luck with halves at that bank, so I decided to go with the small dollar box. There were ten keepers: 2 1979-P SBA Wide Rim 2002-D Sac 2007-P and D Sacs 2013-S Impaired Proof William McKinley 2014-P Sac "Compass" reverse 2015-P "Small Ike" 2016-D Nixon 2016-D Reagan (my latest find up to this point) Also, a 2004 East Caribbean States $ I'm only missing one post-WW2 president at this point in my set (Ford), along with one 19th century one (Benjamin Harrison), but I still am missing all presidents past Teddy up through and including FDR.

I need some input from you small dollar roll searchers...I stopped at a bank tonight and they had 64 MINT rolls of 2009-2016 small gold dollars. Are there some that are more collectable than others? Do any sell for more than others?
I am considering buying all the rolls and then selling them in hopes of making a 10% net profit...possible or impossible?
Thanks for any input.

berto if it were me I would go for the 2009 coins only because they are considered the modern key date. Since the economy was in the toilet they did not mint many of them.

Ckrakowski, according to my research the 2009 Native American dollar coins were relatively high mintage compared to the more recent years. Prior to my research I was under the same impression. Regardless, I went ahead and bought them all. I already sold 15 rolls locally for $5 profit per roll, so I'm already satisfied with my investment! Thanks for your input :)

Guy at work who collects all types of coins sold me 2 presidential proofs he got out of the vending machine. He sold them for $1 a piece so I couldn't go wrong with that.

Picked up a box of dollars today. First roll yielded a wounded eagle and a Wide Rim 1979 SBA. Hope it continues!
