Just finished searching $1700 in small dollars and $58 in IKES. In the Ikes just one keeper, a 1971D Friendly Eagle Variety. Not a very pretty coin. IN the small dollars, I lost track, but got at least 50 Not Intended for Circulation (NIFC), such as 2012-2018 Presidential dollars, some Native American from 2002-08 and 2012-present. I also got two proofs, one Native American and a 79S SBA Type 1 (wish it were Type 2!). I also landed two 79P SBA wide rim varieties. I am amazed that despite how poorly the golden dollars circulate, how horrible looking they are with spots, fingerprints, loss of luster, corrosion and other problems. It will be very difficult to assemble a BU set from circulation.

Went to the bank today and they had $375 worth of dollar coins. I only had $200 on me so I got that many. They were all customer wrapped rolls. I received 57 Sacagawea dollars. Are there any NIFC years/designs for this dollar? 2 Susan B Anthony dollars. Both are 1979. I think one is a wide rim and one is a narrow rim. Can someone please post photos or point me in the direction so I can figure out if I have them. The rest are presidents. I am only listing the NIFC coins. Chester A Arthur. Grover Cleveland. 22nd coin. Benjamin Harrison x2 Theodore Roosevelt x2 William Howard Taft x2 Herbert Hoover x2 Franklin D Roosevelt x4 Harry S Truman Lyndon B Johnson. I plan to keep 1 of each of the NIFC coins unless the ones I have multiples of are form the different mints then I will keep one from each mint. What do you do with the other NIFC coins? Do you spend them or keep them. Once I have the coins I need for my folder I have no need for any other of the coin but since they are NIFC I would not feel right about spending them.

@ckrakowski Sorry no one replied. Native American (or Sacagawea) from 2002-08 and 2012-present are NIFC coins. 2000, 2001, 2009-2011 were all released for general circulation. If you post pictures of your SBA 1979, I can tell you if it is wide rim or not. Only 79 Philly (P) has the wide rim variety. Great finds on all those NIFCs. Most of the Presidential NIFCs are low mintage coins. I would keep them if in nice shape. If those circulate too much, they will become spotted, discolored, or corroded in a hurry. Personally, I keep most of the NIFCs I find because they are worth more than face value,. unless their condition is not too great.

Got my first roll of dollar coins a couple days ago. It was a full roll of uncirculated Jefferson presidential's (Philadelphia mint). Nothing crazy, just something to add to the collection.

While picking up my last 2 boxes of halves, the teller ask if I want some SBA's, as I always ask for them loose. Well they had 4 rolls and I only had enough cash for 1, so they will keep them in the vault, until my next visit. In this roll of SBA's I found a 1980S that is in much better condition than the current one in my book. So I changed it out. Can't say how many rolls of SBA's I have stashed, or even if I have looked at all of them yet. My book still needs the 1981's. Webekin

Regarding Small dollars not well known, my sister in law has 2 of the golden dollars in her pocketbook, she is very proud of, both my brother and she are deaf, and she thinks they are special. On another note, I provide transportation for a group of Amish carpenters, one day Eli says he has a 1868 gold dollar what is it's value? Use smart phone to look for a value, when we get back to his house he bring out the coin, you guessed it, a recent Presidential dollar, value $1.00. Life is good, Webekin

Went to the safe, found maybe close to 400 SBA, went through them and found 1 1979P wide rim. Reread some of the treads regarding wide rims as I had found all my 1980 and 1999 had the wide rims. Normal. Will be looking for more, as I ask for SBA's every time I go to the bank.Webekin
