#1 One of my favorite ancients!   Syracuse, under Agathokles, circa 295 BC. Head of Artemis right, quiver over shoulder. Reverse, Winged thunderbolt, AGAQOKLEOS above, BASILEOS (king) below, 24mm 9.58 gr #2 Another entry from Bactria--I really like the thunderbolt on this one.  Menander. Circa 155-130 BC. AR Drachm. Taxila mint Diademed heroic bust left, with aegis and spear / Athena Alkidemos left; monogram. Ref: Bop_07 2.35gr 18mm

The reverse on the Menander is extremely nice. Besides the thunderbolt, I love the shield.

ok, here's one...   Sases (circa 85 AD) AE Drachm Obverse: Bearded bust, right. Reverse: Pallas standing right with thunderbolt and shield.

The only Thunderbolt I have at the moment.  Lydia,Apollonis, 2nd-1st c. BC, AE 14 Head of Hercules clad in lion skin r. Winged thunderbolt, APOLLW NIDEWN above and below

In the late 1st and early 2nd centuries the scarce quadrans and semis denominations were often issued without imperial portraits. Here is one with an eagle opposite a thunderbolt.  AE19. Struck 119 - 124 or 125 by Hadrian at Rome. IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HADRIANVS AVG, eagle standing left, head right PM TRP COS III, SC below, thunderboltBMC 1278. RIC 624. Seldom offered.

My first coin not sure who this one is, I pulled it out of my soup.Noticed he was holding a thunderbolt.. Silvered, Antoninanus 21x22mm 3.00g   Next coin...  Septimius Severus..193-211..AD.. AR. Denarius... Ob. Laureate head right.. Rev.Jupiter standing left, holding thunderbolt and sceptre, eagle at feet. Rome... Mint 19mm x 2.6g. Ric 196

I can't believe that out of over 600 cataloged ancients in my collection I don't have a single one with a thunderbolt. So it looks like I'll just have to enjoy what you all have.
