Quote: Up to this point there have been three scorpions shown but only one was labeled. Can you find the other two?
One is on the reverse of stevex6's Caria, forepart of lion coin. The other on the reverse of his camel coin. I missed the camel one, till dougsmit mentioned there was another.

Scorpions have been mentioned. Here is a prominent one: King Antiochus IV of Commagene, AD 38-72. He was appointed king by Caligula. The coin was struck at Samosota. 29 mm. 14.31 grams  Reverse type: Scorpion in laruel wreath. Inscription KOMMA<gamma> HNON Sear Greek Imperial 5507. PRC 3854.

here's one that hasn't been posted here, technically medieval I guess...   Shahi Kings of Kabul and Ghandara, Sri Samanta Deva, 850 - 1000 A.D AE Jital Obv. Elephant caparisoned Rev. Roaring lion right, left paw raised, dots above, dot below tail. Ohinda mint that "scorpion king" coin is GREAT aug1!

Some Imperial silver animals... Capricorns....   Oxen...  Panther ( standing left, head turned back to catch drips from jug)..  Lion.  Ship with mast and fittings, sail raised, gangway to ground; above, four quadrigae; below, bird, lion, zebra, bear, stag, bull and a bear. If only the coin were in good enough consition to see them all.  Peacock  Elephant

A flock of Republican Gryphons:- I think that the observant amongst you will notice that I might have too many Gryphons (these are just the Roman ones)... Gryphon with Hippocamp and Dolphin  Gryphon with Owl and Eagle/crow  Just a bunch of Gryphons
