I'm a big fan of the $2 bill. Most banks have them, and the tellers are usually glad to get rid of whatever they have.

I'm surprised most dealers don't hand out $2 bills, 50¢ pieces, and dollar coins in their change.

I spend halves and dollar coins. I think it's time to ask the bank for $2 bills. I get some strange looks on the halves and dollar coins and can only imagine what looks I'd get if I spend $2 bills.

My local bank always has deuces. They are mostly 1995s and 2003s now, but there are still a good many 76s. I have received a 76 star note and even a 63 red seal once.

I spend halves, dollar coins and $2 bills regularly. Sometimes, people I give them to are impressed. Others look at them for a minute like they've never seen one before (maybe they haven't). My coin dealer buys Ike dollars over the counter for $1.10, and gives them out in change. I usually get a few every time I go there. Where I work, we give out half dollars in change. ~Jim
