I bought this on ebay from a seller I have done business with only once in the past. I have not received the coin, but the seller has a money back guarantee if not satisfied. If the consensus is that it is a modern copy after I post my own images, I will return it. |

Huh. I just had to look over there--and read "modern" twice. No offense--but those opinions weren't backed by any diagnostic pics. The side-by-side with a modern copy doesn't look remotely similar in style or fabric.  |

Barry Murphy is VERY good at what he does, one of the best with Greek coins imo. Too bad he doesn't elaborate, but I'm sure he has solid arguments...

I read your post...but as I see it no one gave you good reason to believe it is a fake, or give you the courtesy to explain themselves. Now I know why I stopped visiting that site and certainly wouldn't buy coins from them real or not, cheap or not. Who saw that snot- don't screen your ebay purchases here. I'd love to tell him to take his attitude and shove it up his denarius... |

Just looked at the other offerings from this seller, current and past, and most of his ancient silver are quite doubtful imo. The style never seems to be right  |

You know Dionysos, Looking at this guys past sales I would agree some of his coins look iffy- but I cant wrap my head around THIS piece- I know it doesn't look good from the seller end of it. This coin does look correct though. It has the fabric and edge consistent with ancient metal. Interesting to say the least.
