@yellow yea tell me about it!! Now thats interesting that site says that, in fact, I believe they are the wholesale arm for the maker of these coins if I understand the structure correctly. BUT- take a look at APMEX and their listing for this coin. The 1 oz is listed as a proof... and if you look they have some graded pieces and unless I am reading the labels from the grading, those coins are being graded as proofs. http://www.apmex.com/product/78812/...can-elephant

@Solid
I was told by several dealers this is a wholesaler, hence why they don't they list prices on their items. This outfit does also sell direct to the public but only certain items, again everything else is for the dealers.
There's a couple of big wholesalers as I have been told that deal with the dealers and the coin makers make use of them.

Basically they want to be able to adjust their prices on the fly, with the flucuation in pm prices.
Also they do not want people to use their site just for price reference. So they make you go through the whole checkout process to get the price. Then if you want to buy it, you press buy, if not you just cancel the transaction. It seperates the serious inquires from the less serious prce comparers.

It looks like the 2013 Elephants are starting to carry a premium. ModernCcoini Mart has the buy it now price very close the the 2013 Pandaa. Better grab all the 2013 Elephans while the getting's good.
I'm still mixed on the privy, gilded and colored they don't seem to have the premion one would think compared to the BU coins over time. Some sites list the privy coins a good bit hire than the other coins. I'never liked privy coins. Maybe I 'm missing the boat or maybe mot. The older years colored and gilded don't go up in price s much as BU coins percanagee wise it seems.
I of course desire to collect them all and I hear the 2014 High Releif coin is on pre-order. They seem to do quite well but there's asubstantial premium build in already.
What's the forums next purchases coin to be and why? I love to here thought and opions.
PS_ Iam stacking 2013 like mad.

It seems like all Elephants are moving up in pricing and not just the early ones. Maybe the days of buying a steal on ebay really are over. I keep looking though. I bought 2 2012 for $40 bucks each last moth and that's the best deal I'm seen lately.

the high relief elephants are really nice. Defiantly worth the premium. They come in a really nice wood box and COA and has a mintage of 1000. Really low mintage and same price as 1oz coins from RCM. I would recommend grabbing the high relief ones if you can. I'm sure they will go up in value with the low mintage. The 2014 are easy to find but its getting hard to find the 2013 already

I wish I could get them in that price range in the US, All I'm finding are on ebay for $99 bucks with a Nomember delivery delay. Does anyone know of any real good deals here in the US for gilded, proof. and colored coins? Does any one have a nice pic of a proof Elephant I find the youtube videos lacking. I'm also looking for a BU 2009 Elephant in pristine condition at a reasonalbe price. I would be interested in buying.

by 1oz RCM coins a mean there NCLT coins and they sell for $100 (not the bullion coins which sell for 25 bucks)...so $99 for the high relief elephant is a fair price for sure.

Quote: I'm sure you're proud of you purchase. Share the joy! I agree , who doesn't like showing their collection? Still waiting to see yup's collection of painted elephants. Don't generally like painted coins, but I kind of liked the painted Canadian Wildlife series coins. The painting brought out details I missed in the silver coins. Would love to see the details I missed in Yup's collection.

I'll have to refer you to another thread why I dont post pictures lol
BTW- I noticed, thanks to that post by Solid, that many of these gold coins could come in wooden boxes, provided the dealer purchases the wooden box.
I plan on calling around today to verify these 1 oz gold elephants are proofs, that is the 2014.
