Would this be considered a hearing aid?

Yes, and a very nice example, many of the ones I have seen are not that distinct.

Thanks west-canuk.

I'm in a small town, can only get coins from internet, been collecting for a while, however I do not know one person who collects coins. I'm going to be adding more questionable coins and varieties that I have.

Nice Obverse Hearing Aid Die Clash example of the 1950-1952 type..... in previous years of the George VI fifty cent coins they were a small square in the King's ear and possibly a ragged pattern around the King's head....
