The ATB set looks really good in silver proof, will be an eye catching set when they're done in '21. I would try to get all the proofs from every year and put inside of single coin per park Dansco coin album, if you are not really into collecting silver eagles. All of the parks so far are generally distinct from each other and have a variety of designs whereas eagles only have a date change in addition to finish.

does the mintage numbers of a coin make a difference in silver coins? for example would it be more desirable to have a silver proof of a low mintage coin compared to a high one? or does it not make any differance....

Since you said proof I assume you mean collector coins rather than bullion so yes It should make a difference. A silver 2011-S Silver Eagle at 100k will sell for more than a 2007-W at 600k. ANY coins bought from the Mint have a premium waaaay above that of bullion coins and a good part of their value is the premium that collectors are willing to pay. If you want just silver coins buy bullion Eagles at a MUCH lower premium. If you collect coins then stick with the Mint

Quote: does the mintage numbers of a coin make a difference in silver coins? Not nearly as much as for business strikes. Silver Proof versions always have much lower mintage numbers than business strikes. The full 2012 Silver Proof Set now has a premium because of its sell-out and low mintage, but as long as the 2012 ATB Silver Quarters Proof Set remains available, we won't know the final mintage for the Quarters. The key coins of the 2012 Silver Proof Set & Limited Edition Set are the JFK Half and the Dime.

Why not start with the 2010 since that's when they started the ATB series? I think the 2010 Silver Proof set is awesome. Of course, you won't be able to buy it from the Mint but I just recently picked it up from ebay for $40. Other than that, 2012 or 2013...I guess it all depends on what you like. We know the 2012 series of the quarters have been extremely popular so that's probably a good way to go. HTH

I did not read all comments, but am I the only one who likes fort McHenry? Our countrys anthem was written based off of that very view that the design captures. Very cool imo. Maybe I'm just a nerd haha.

Quote: am I the only one who likes Fort McHenry? It looks great as a Proof, but I agree with Conder101 that the design might not work as well as a business strike (particularly the fireworks). Quote:i think I will buy the ATB silver proof set from the mint should I buy the 2012 set or 2013? and I like each series equally.... 2012, because if the Silver Proof Quarters Set is pulled soon, those Quarters will have a lower mintage than years past. Then 2010. The 2010 Silver Quarters Proof Sets are reasonable right now. The 2010 Clad Proof Sets have a rather high premium already, so it wouldn't hurt to grab a 2010 Silver Set.

All of them. Get the 2012s, then 2010, and finally the 2011/2013s. The State Quarters set was out of this world in silver proof, I can only imagine the full silver ATB set in 2021 when it's done to be 1,000 times better than the States. The fully white frosted devices with deep black mirrors make these coins to be not missed. These will be the future keepers.

2012s are the lowest for right now, might end up around 600K per silver proof when the silver quarter set concludes sales. 722K for 2011, 860K for 2010. All of these are substantially lower than the heyday of States in 2004-05.
