Close-up of the first appearance of Ben Franklin's great Fugio rebus design (months before appearing on the Continental Currency dollar coin, and 11 years before the Fugio copper). The blue lines are silk threads, and the white spots are reflections from flakes of mica, both incorporated in the paper as anti-counterfeiting measures.
