Well I was about to list some silver 5 cents when this one caught my eye.. It appears to be an 8 over 1 ? You can see the tip and also the 5 is double struck. ? any ideas ? If its not a 1 then what //Inside the first loop of the 8 you can see a portion of what ever number is there

Can you get a close up of the 8. I can see the piece you mention but need to get closer, it could be a 1 or a 7 or just some PMD.

From what I can see in the 2nd set of photos, I would say it is PMD. There doesn't appear to be anything in the 8, both top and bottom halves seem to be clear. If there had been a 1 or 7 it would appear in one of the 2 halves or even both, especially if it was a 1.

not PMD for sure as the metal is under the 8 and look inside the first part of the 8 you can also see something there

For 8 over 1, not likely. What I see is a nice die break .
