I hope the Mods allow this thread to remain up. Lately I have noticed a lack of new threads being posted here along with what appears to be a departure of some long time members and experts. There is no need to go into details what might have brought this on most of you already have some idea. My reason for this post is that I'm concerned that the Ancient Coin Forum is going to revert back to the way it was several years ago when there were only a few of us posting. I don't want to see that happen and I know that there are still members that have remained here that feel the same. This place has been an outstanding source on information and knowledge on ancient coins and I will do my best with all your help to try and bring it back up to the way it was. So please keep posting your ancients.

It is indeed sad - we have permanently lost at least 2 highly experienced numismatists and we no longer see so many purchases being posted. We need to attract some more members with deep pockets...

I suspect that the activities of other previously active members has dropped off greatly too.

I know you guys don't see me posting much at all these days, but I am active! Kinda [:/] I am still reading the posts here, but I have not gotten anything new in a while. I have turned my collecting focus back to US coins for the time being. I find that I need to switch things up every once-in-a-while. I apologize and I will try to become more involved again.

Bobby I did get it. It's good to know that there are still regulars here and that we are starting to get some new members also.

Over past few years I have seen this ancients forum build a momentum I never thought possible and it has been great! Over that time there has been been times that I have been able to contribute more and times that I have had other irons in the fire. Right now I have a lot of irons in the fire. I have not even had the time to post all the coins I picked up at NYINC. I too am saddened by recent events, but it is the nature of things to expand and contract. Look at all of the empires we talk about here. What I love about this forum is the caring and openness to sharing and I don't see that going away here on CCF! Not with great members like yourselves! This Coin Community family is great, but could use more active members. If you belong to a club or some other group of ancient-coin collectors (maybe an e-group), mention it to them.

In all my ancient coin listings on e**y I recommend this forum to learn more about collecting ancient coins.
Certainly since 2008 we have seen the ancient coin market affected like everything else. However, serious collectors buy and sell off coins they no longer want, so there is always going to be a need for a user friendly ancient coin forum to discuss and show coins.
And I have found this ancient coin forum the friendliest and most helpful, which is why I am still here and not on others.

It has changed some, but it's still pretty active compared to when I first started.
All things must change.
Not to worry bout me Ski, I don't always have a lot to add but I'm sticking around. Hopefully I'll have some good posts coming up.

I'm definitely still here and posting as much as I usually do. Sometimes not that much, other times a lot.

I am not new to Coin Community, but I am new in the Ancients. I have received so much help with my newly found addiction from many members, especially Masis and Bobbyhelmet. This is a great forum, I received much more assistance that I thought I may.
Thank you to everyone for making me feel welcome and taking it easy the newbie!

I am hardly an expert on any certain thing and very rarely can I help anyone when asking about ancient coins but I have been away from the forum for awhile because of some personal situations I have been trying to work out. If I am one of the long time members that is thought to be gone just know that is not the case. I am still here and this will always be my home, I am trying to get everything straightened out so I can return like I once was. I know this is probably talking about some people that something that happened that I have no clue of since I have been sporadically visiting the forum since before Christmas and even then I haven't really read many threads at all but I do want to let anyone know that thought I was gone for good that you can be assured I will be back and very soon hopefully
