SO...

pretty strong bounce today for gold and silver. In one day they both had higher high and higher low, completely reverse several days of moving lower.

However, when you zoom out, and using the charts from our most recent posting when we talked about silver and gold, we can see we are still locked in this range.

I am not surprised tho, most financial assets are locked in a range for now. Keep the price targets and areas we last discussed as your goal posts for now, they remain valid still.

I'm not really seeing that strong bounce recently, $20-30 has been the normal ups and down, remember few years back we had bigger swings of $40 - $100. Perhaps there aren't much of big buyers now then when it was in demand or in trends.

You to have remember the time frame and context when I am talking about the price action.

Yesterday was a strong bounce due to the fact that in terms of price, gold and silver in one day broke the previous high of day and did not break the previous low of day on a shorter time frame. Thus, with yesterdays price action in mind, yesterday was a strong bounce.

In other words, we are not counting the actual dollar amount of the move but how price acted to determine how strong the move was.

That said, gold and silver need to build on such moves to really make them worth anything.

Does anyone see demand picking up in the near future or will we be around these prices for the next little while?

@emveecoins

the only one that knows that answer is the market itself.

Commodities are based on supply and demand. Obviously, there has been for the past 3+ years a clear lessening demand for gold and silver.

Whether this changes depends on what the market does.

You will get countless opinions why it will change or has to change. However, all those opinions will be wrong and mean nothing because at the end of the day, only the current price of the asset and the price action is the true indicator of what is going on with gold and silver.

another big counter trend move, if this holds into regular session another set of higher highs and higher lows for silver and gold.

...and another reason why its silly and a waste of time to predict price points in gold and silver. anyone who attempts to put price targets in "x" amount of time is just noise and should be ignored.

the overnight highs have carried into the regular session and gold and silver remain near their HOD for today..

Whats going to be interesting is to see IF they can build off of the price action today.

havent had time to run some charts up.. but just a heads up.

both gold and silver are making lower highs and lower lows. which is resulting in both metals stalling out here.

Silver is now entering the lower end of the range and at this rate, if it continues to grind lower, its going to come into the 15.40s again.

Gold same case,,,, its in the lower end of the range as well. A grinder lower here gets back into the 1180s at this pace.

if these areas are breached in the coming weeks, much lower prices are coming.

hope to get some charts up to illustrate whats going on

Good question, I'll give you may opinion. Prices will work their way lower for some time. There will
be some moves up, but the long term trend will be lower.

It depends on if paper trading is pushing the price down as it seems that the dollar is being made to look stronger vs metals/oil and such.. demand for metal in hand I don't believe is 100% shown by paper pricing and I am buying again because of the low price and I plan to buy another 10oz this week to add to the 30oz of silver I just bought.

$15.40 Yup?

Why throw out specific numbers when only the market knows?

Physical demand in my area is way down. I'm a dealer and I rarely see a customer who comes in just for bullion anymore. Maybe one or two a week. Even then they tend to be small buyers; $100 to $200. In fact my trays of "bullion grade" Morgans and Peace dollars are growing. A year ago I had two trays, now I have 6.

I can't buy local myself because of the price different as I pay $20 more local for the same 10oz bar from on-line seller and after afew bars that adds up quick.. ebay is a good place to see what people are paying but the fee for selling can't be worth it.. if it was me I would have my own online store like the bigger names have with sales and I would think you could move some product.. right now with the price down I shop for the best price pre oz as I look at everyone..

Been a very sideways go no where market for silver and gold. Lets take a look at where we stand right now!

Last week I had mentioned that silver had put in a continued series of lower lows and lower highs and mentioned that if it continued that way we would could see lower prices. From Tues. all the way to Thurs. we say silver grind lower. Friday saw a bounce which occurred at the lower end of the range.

Lets take a look at the chart for a better idea of whats been happening and where we stand. As always, remember, we use charts not to predict the future but rather to see where we have been and to identify areas where buyers and sellers will step in. Only confirmation allows us to determine that the probabilities increase where the move is going.

What-Happens-To-Gold-And-Silver-Next?-Look-Out-Below?

Take a look at the two gold lines we have on the chart and there one can see the range we currently have on a shorter time frame for silver. This range that silver is presently trapped in is 16.08 on the low end and 17 on the high end.

The question that arises in the coming week is in which direction silver breaks? That we dont know as we will, as always have to wait for the market to tell us.

In the context of a longer time frame the upper range of silver remains firmly 18.50, until this area is broken, for now, there is no real reason to pin hopes on much higher prices. Again looking at things on a longer time frame, on the lower end of the range we have 15.26, should that be breached the probabilities increase that we might see lower prices.

Gold

Much like silver, gold also finds itself in a range. It also last week had 3 days of continue lower highs, lower lows. (To refresh the mind, a set of lower highs and lower lows indicate price starting to stall out and or slow down,,, and higher highs and higher lows indicate price either moving higher or attempting to reverse from moving lower. This we view in the context of a daily time frame, as we measure the advance of each day and compare it to the previous day.)

This sort of continued price action in the form that gold has for 3 days with lower highs and lower low usually indicates lower prices but Friday came and a bounce materialized. Lets look at the chart.

What-Happens-To-Gold-And-Silver-Next?-Look-Out-Below?

Again look between the yellow lines. For gold we have 1219 on the upper range and 1192 on the lower end in the context of a shorter time frame. We will be waiting to see which way this range is broken. On a longer time frame, 1307.81 remains firmly the upper range for now. On the lower end of the range we have 1141.60.

This sloppy go no where gold and silver price action is pretty much in line with most global assets. Eventually, this range will be broken but time is needed here. In fact, patience along with time will go along to see how this plays out.

From my standpoint, for my time frame as a trader, there continues to be ZERO reason to be involved in silver or gold. I would be interested in taking a position on either the upper range or the lower but nothing in between. There will be short time frame traders who will be trading and have been trading this narrow range however.

As we say in this biz, know your time frame. The only one we can still say with all certainty is that gold and silver still remain stuck in their downtrends. There have several counter trend moves that traders have been able to make use of but for longer term investors they are seeing no positive returns.

How long this goes on is anyone's guess. The only thing I do know is allocating big and regular purchases to gold and silver at these levels is futile as we dont have a clear direction in terms of a turn of the trend.

As always, remain patient and vigilante of price as its the only true indicator of what happens next or will happen.

Finally I apologize for the delay in charts, its been extremely busy here on my end.

Only thing about the charts not shown is the buying and selling over the week end as the price is locked.. the price may by held down for a reason as maybe a place like COMEX needs to rebuy real metal to refill there vaults at a lower price as maybe they sold what was not there's to sell at a higher spot price before these people coming looking for there metal..
