I moved out to the San Francisco area last year, and have found banks to be pretty hostile towards dumping coins. BOA wants to charge me $5 for any large amount, and other credit unions have machines that charge you those pesky percentage fees. (It's times like this, I miss Florida a lot.)

So are there any friendly banks out here? I've only found US Bank to be my only option as they would allow me to bring in a few coins at a time with no issues.

P.S. With the banks acting like this, how do you guys go through boxes out here?

Bank of the West is a good choice, it's my preferred dump bank here in the Bay Area and they're generally nice about it.

I always put the coins back in the rolls after I search them, replacing the coins I took with other ones. But I don't search that often. I've read other people talking about getting coin rollers for themselves to avoid what you and I have to face.
