Quote: Anyone see these as becoming worthless or of little value 5-10 years down the road? Anything is possible, people my get tired of gimmicky coins or painted coins. But I think people will never get tired of birds. I think the coins will hold value or go up. Right now is a difficult time to predict coin prices. As we're just coming out of a recession I think more people will value cash on hand than a collection of bird coins. That being said nobody know what the future will bring.

@ Sunfish--Since these appeal to people who aren't in the "regular" coin collecting community, as well as numismatics, there probably will continue to be some demand for them. That's not to say they won't lose value, because it's possible they may, but I will be shocked if the older ones ever drop back all the way to original purchase prices. And thanks so much for posting the robin photo. Can't wait until mine arrives!

Based on Taro-chan list of mintage (page 2), the 2012 birds has the most mintage.... as this year coin only has around 17K mintage.

Robin looks the most realistic out of the series IMO. Any details on when the second one is suppose to be released? Thanks!

I just bought a 2008 cardinal coin from an ebay seller and need your help. Aside from having scratches on the obverse, the certificate of authenticity looks odd to me. It does not have a printed colour pic of a cardinal on the COA, the text font is smaller than usual and the entire length of the COA is shorter than usual, just under 10 inches. Is that COA supposed to look like this ? Can someone be kind enough to please check your Cardinal bird COA and tell me if anything is wrong with the one I got ? I would really appreciate your help. Thanks !

sorry, I'm not able to post a pic but its the COA I'm looking for your help first. Could someone please check your Cardinal COA and see if there is a printed colour pic of the bird on this COA, and measure the length of the COA, is it only just under 10 inches ? Many thanks !

No color pic for my cardinal. The COA unfolds to 5 of the original square in length.

Were you the one that had the lone bid of 285$ on the auction that ended yesterday for the cardinal?
