Thanks everyone. I made the mistake of using a term I should have been more careful with. I have a bag of Ikes that are in a canvas bank bag. they appear to be in uncirculated or near uncirculated condition. In that same bag are about twenty rolls of Ikes. I opened one roll and the first coin on top is the one I pictured. I know for certain I have Ikes in Brown sleeve boxes, Blue envelopes and black plastic holders....dozens and dozens. I will bring the "bank" bag home this weeknd and go through them. I will post here what is in the rolls and in the bag. the proof sets and mint sets are obviously what they are.

Ive got a bunch of Ikes to go through as well.

Turned on the coin show briefly tonite and Barry Chapell was going on and on and on about the 1973 S Ike going up in value 50 years from now. Of course he was also selling them at the time...

Like I said, I knew you would fix anything I goofed. ;)
Aside from that one little error, it was a very good summary.

I meant to say that yesterday.

Gazot, please keep us posted with plenty of pics. Really, you have a heck of a hoard there that would keep me occupied for a while. LOL

Will do my best to bring home this weekends and see what we are looking at. If I don't have the granddaughter I'll be in the bag (with the Ikes)

When I use to work in a store I had a guy come through my line he payed me in now I can't be to sure if it was in halve dollars or Ike dollars after the total came up to fifty dollars and change. So I had to count to make he gave me the the right amount so I started counting and saying one Mississippi, two Mississippi. I just assume he asked for a bunch of rolls at his bank looking to find silver, but there were no silver Ike dollars in cirulation.

Ok.First Roll out 1973 P's and they are pretty darn nice.
Want to clear up what is in the bag. My first post said bank rolls and I spoke too soon...that was my recollection but not the case so sorry for that. There are about 200 unwrapped loose Ikes in the bank bag. Some are Uncirculated and others have wear. There are 16 rolls that are not original bank rolls. Somebody put them in these rolls. I hope the rest look like this. Why would you roll 20 pristeen Ikes all the same year and mint mark and not even label the roll?

Thank you for the update. A great resource site to help you on you research is http://www.ikegroup.info. A lot information for IKE collectors.... you may end up having a "discovery piece" in your lot.... your finding alone can be an article of its self. I fall in love with IKE thanks to these guys.

Have fun with your new adventure.... and Welcome to the Collecting World.

As a reminder, if you ever need to dispose of these IKE, before you take them to the bank, make sure you let people on here know ahead of time.... I'm sure there are a few people on here (like jbuck) who are more than willing to give you at least a dollar bill for any IKE.
