Quite frankly, I'm disappointed on where this thread has gone. Can anybody bring it back to a normal conversation? For one, I clicked on this mostly to see if anybody has uploaded some pictures of their 'premium hand selected coins'. I read all 4 pages up till now, and not a one. If you got some pictures - get them up here. As for being able to get the Premium 6-coin set from the mint, with only 32 posts (most likely only on this topic) I'm guessing Tofu-Burger just doesn't have the 'history' at the mint either. My guess, if they do have one or two sets left, they are on reserve for some clients who area already big spenders at mint.ca.

Thank you Coin Games for the lead. You are the only person who actually tried to help me find these coins. Thank you for your efforts. It's funny that this site is the "Coin Community Family". I would have to say my first impression is of a very dysfunctional family. As for the silence when I asked for a name to contact at the mint, well, that silence speaks volumes! Hopefully future posters will be more considerate and empathetic.

People here are very private about their dedicated MC reps for some particular reason. I actually called the Mint today in Ottawa and was also told they were sold out on the premium set as well. I said to them if they were sure, and she says "on her inventory system, it shows none available".
Again, from yesterday,was told by the Manager at the Mint boutique that there were two hanging around at the store in Winnipeg, so it must be the two sets that we are talking about still floating out there, so I am assuming the MC reps have priority on getting them shipped back to Ottawa.

Which reminds me I need to call John at JandM and tell him I won't be buying the set they have. Thanks again Coinplus

Regardless of how much money one has to spend....I would preview the set before shelling out the big bucks...I did NOT see the two the Vanc Boutique had/has, but I did see the set that J&M is offering at $15,000+, and my money stayed in my pocket.

Are the remaining 1913 and 1914 $10 premium hand select coins worth the extra $750 over the regular hand select ones?

@MoneyPenny
I have not seen either coin, but if you do choose, the 1914 $10 is going to have a remaining mintage of 30-35k (based on comments in PCGS video), but 50%+ will be MS+ grade. If investment/profit is your goal, I would probably not pay the premium. If collecting the best coin is your objective then you might do fine, but I suspect that high quality 1914's will be available at less than the PHS price, given that 15k MS coins were released and most of the graded ones were MS 63 or higher.

tofuburger, Re your statement: Quote: "It's funny that this site is the "Coin Community Family". I would have to say my first impression is of a very dysfunctional family" You need to give your head a shake... Who do you think you are coming on here and dissin' knowledgeable and experienced people who are giving you good advice...? Don't be bitin' their fingers off... just look where they're pointing! The only thing "dysfunctional" that I saw in all 5 pages of this topic was your refusal to accept what others are saying as valid... You are coming across as very arrogant, egotistical, and immature. cameron93

@Cameron93,
It's kind of ironic that you wrote, "You are coming across as very arrogant, egotistical, and immature", while you wrote "tofu brain", isn't helping the matter.
Let's just all be calm here and rest this issue, as it's not necessary to be name calling. Otherwise, this whole board will just be full of retaliatory attacks.

@coinsplus, My sincere apologies if my sarcasm offended you... But not sure about comment being "ironic"... I was genuinely angered by tofu's callous coments about us being a "dysfunctional family"... and we've got every right to stick up for ourselves here when being maligned as a group by someone who clearly has not demonstrated themselves to be entitled to make that judgement! cameron93

I have seen 3 of the sets in person. Comparing the coins to my 1914 $10 ICCS MS 64, I can say the premium sets easily average MS64. A couple coins may be MS 63, but each set seemed to have at least one or three coins that were spectacular, and way nicer than my 64. In two sets, it was the 1912 $10 that was an easy MS65.

I have seen a total of eight sets, generally, the $10 coins seem to be better grades than the $5 coins. The 1914 $10 I have seen in all sets seemed to be the superior coin... (mind you, seeing only 8 sets hardly gives any statistical credence to my observations...)
