So much negativity, and from the guy who deleted his post yesterday so that others could not buy the coin and tie up the post office phone lines.
I know how many coins the mint has to sell based on how coins been sold in the past. Look at every single hot coin sold in the past few months and you will see a pattern. I think the pattern is so obvious that the guys from RFD spent all day yesterday hoarding coins and deleting posts because they now there will be a limited availability of these from the mint. I think they even expected the coin to sell out yesterday. One guy even claimed to have purchased 300 coins.
With regards to profit. If you are projecting $30 (approx 20% ROI), good luck. I'm looking at closer to $22. If it goes higher that's great but nothing is guaranteed. The second glow in the dark dino coin is selling far below everybody's expectations. As for a 10x profit, I have never once stated that.
Why should I be limited from buying from the mint? Have you imposed such restrictions on yourself? If I disagree with you, don't hate. I want to make clear one thing, if I am incorrect then I will accept that and apologize. If I cut something down, then I believe it deserves it. I don't cut down every coin, I just don't always buy into the hype. I think opposite view points are helpful. We may not always agree but if people start to censor opposing viewpoint then we are really in trouble.
Why did the guy deleted the phone number? Is it OK if I post it? And how could you order 300 of them unless you have 300 accounts? As for profits, there is more opportunity to make it with this coin becasue there is 10,000 available versus 35,000 for the Dino coin. Even making $20 is better than breaking even or even losing money with the Dino coin.

Thank you to elkslayer for bringing this to the attention of everyone to be able to order them. If it wasn't for his post people might not have known. I am going to wait for MC release to order But thought it was nice of you to offer up one of your sources.

Someone over at the RFD forum was kind enough to post a picture of the butterfly. In my opinion, it looks nice, but I'm not sure if it's better than the bumble bee. Anyways, I think the prices of the ladybug and bee will start to creep up again.

Here is my post from the other Venetian Glass coin thread: Its not a secret phone number for ordering these coins. Its ridiculous that people are refusing to post the number when the information is easily available through a google search. Anyone over the age of eight years old can find one of several phone numbers you can order from. All you need is to type Canada Post in the google search. Or for those to lazy to do a search, these coins plus hundreds of other coin and stamp products are available through the National Philatelic Centre. They accept orders from the USA and other countries. http://www.canadapost.ca/tools/pg/m...ilprod-e.asp

Quote: I think the prices of the ladybug and bee will start to creep up again. i think, that is correct. For Ladybug and Bumble Bee. As usual - for the previous coins in the series, and the current one will demand some premium too...let's say will be near $200. The same was with Mongolian Wildlife coins, but there even worse - because they weren't (as I remember) distributed by Mongolian Mint or it's distributors, but directly via resellers.

I just saw the post office brochure on the coin. I wasn't impressed with the look of the butterfly. The flower was beautiful but the butterfly looked kind of childish and tacky. I hope like most coins they will look better in hand.

To me, the whole series looks childish and tacky (reminiscent of drawings you see in grade school art class), but I guess that's just one person's humble opinion. How many people buy this just because of the hype...

I think the ladybug and the bee are pretty cool but the butterfly is too small for the flower. I don't see this series going too far unless they make the coins bigger, what other bugs can you put on a coin that size? Maybe a fly or how about a mosquito :) I missed the ladybug coin and it's way out of my price now.

After seeing a photo of the third coin on another thread, I'm less than impressed. The butterfly does look a bit childish and somehow "off". I'm not able to identify what's off about it though. Perhaps the red dots on the wings seem disproportionate?
I was originally intending to purchase it as a one off, but after seeing the picture am not so sure

I must of missed it was the last in the series - thanks for the info. It will be interesting to see what happens with the prices for the coins a year from now

It's always better when you see it in person and all the butterflys are will not be the same relax all and give it a chance, what is so special about the ladybug it's just a blob of glass when you get down to it at least this one has wings
