Bibo...The bumble bee was always between $200-$250 on ebay, right from the very start. It just hasn't appreciated further. As for my bets...I'm willing to bet a butterfly coin that the butteflies will be sold out before public release (like with the bumble bee, they might hold a hand ful for public release, but I think we will see a period of awaiting stock between MC and general release to the very least.

Quote:In about 2-3 weeks there will be tons of Butterfly coins on ebay :( Like the 2nd Dino which is now selling at cost or a loss. We sure were wrong about that coin. However, there is 10,000 of the butterfly vs 30,000 for the Dino. It should sell for a small profit like maybe $20 to $30 a coin.

With a mintage of 30,000, I dont know why anyone would think that they would bring in a profit.I stayed clear of that one! I think the new moon mask coming out in a few days will do better then the Butterfly in the secondary market. Time will tell!

I'm betting on the butterfly coin...but I doubt it will appreciate as much as the previous coins in that series...or if it does, it will take awhile.

The first Dino was a first ever coin which explains why the prices took off. Upon viewing ebay this evening I noticed about a million of the second Glow in the dark Dino's are for sale and there seems to be no action on the majority of them. Oh wait...there are 8 bidders on one of them and the price has been bid up to a whopping $20.

That's the problem, 100's of people thought they could make a quick profit flipping Dino2 and then ebay was swamped with them. Economics at work: Supply is High therefore Demand is Low. Wait 2 years, when 4th coin comes out it'll be worth $90+ Show me a bank that offers that kind of return...

I think my mint box of older (base metal) 2012 loon dollars has a much better profit margin than any of the aforementioned coins...
