$5 Gold 1880...thinking VF30-Vf35 - Opinions?

peteramadeus Valued Member United States 79 Posts	Posted 03/15/2013 11:39 am I know it's hard to tell from photos, but I have the opportunity to purchase this $5 gold piece and this is what the seller sent me. I'm thinking VF30-VF35 would be a fairly safe grade based on the photos. Obviously I will be inspecting it in person before agreeing to purchase. Circulated common dates such as this 1880 trade at melt value plus a small numismatic premium. The biggest concern is authenticity and that coin appears genuine.
