That is interesting. 2002 Lincoln cents have been pretty boring. It would be nice to have this listed as a doubled die.

The thrill of the find vs. the thrill of the hunt: on to the next roll. he hunt always wins because it is the unknown. But a new discovery is a bigger thrill. Way to go.

UPDATE: ANACS and Mike Diamond determined it is not a DDR. John Wexler will issue a retraction in his August 19 column in Coin World.

That sucks. What kind of error/variety is it? I am guessing they called them die gouges.

yes I meant DDR. They said lines were done with a stylus. Not sure what to do next. They know a lot more than I do. I did an overlay with the pic that is on the Coin World web site. If I move Lincoln over to bay 5 some of the lines match up. Move it over to the 6th pillar, more lines line up. It looks to me like the die was tilted when the hub first struck it then the die set right. They say no, so I guess not.

Keep it, don't throw it away whatever you do. As for them saying a stylus did it what does that mean? Is that PMD or something the mint did?
