toner Valued Member United States 58 Posts	Posted 06/28/2013 10:06 pm I don't really know. All I was told someone used a stylus to put lines on it. I made a .gif pic that toggles back and forth. In the .gif I moved Lincoln to the west one bay [5th bay]to a hi-spot that lines up with Lincolns nose. It takes a while but if you study it, its obvious the lines were not done by hand. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 06/30/2013 11:35 pm I do notice the lines are not all in the same orientation. Which indicates they think it is die scratches. Die scratches next to devices do not fade as quickly as those in the fields. Inside the columns would prevent them from flattening as fast as those outside of the Memorial. That is the problem I notice now with this coin. I would still save it and mark it to view again later on. I'd not toss it back into circulation. Report this Post to the Staff

They are not saying they are die scratches,what they say is that someone took a penny[the penny in question]and used a stylus to put the lines on it. If that was the case the lines wouldn't line up as close as they do when Lincoln is moved to the 5th bay would they? I can see you are able to take very good pics would you be willing to take a good pic of it and if so what would it cost? thanks Report this Post to the Staff
