NumisMattyUk Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 2217 Posts	Posted 05/03/2007 12:46 pm Of course the mintages seem to often be the highest for the first years, the obvious reason being you need a lot of coins to go round and then you just need replacements for the ones lost and to increase the numbers once circulation of the new coin has been taken up by the populace. That coin is a very nice grade, I have one from later but it doesn't look good. Yes the lyre and the bird are quite artistic designs and the gaelic letters enhance the effect.
