I am seriously surprised it is Gold coin!
I could not post an image like that. I have been trained-experienced to be colour spot on.
I listed some pennies and left the images as they naturally look. I just could not make them look like they were something else. I could not lighten them.
No insult intended truly! It is just the way the last 12+years has been like for me and images.

i think it looks silver because it was so sunny the other day it was raining today so I took a few shots of coins with lots of luster including the one above ,golden today.Dented R for sure

I hate to disagree with everyone else but that coin does not look polished to me,any chance of another shot of the obverse CudLee ? , but the same standard as your last pic of the reverse .

i only use a little fujifilm point and shoot on auto , it doesn't care how many years you have in being colour spot on , so on sunny days it takes good shots of dull coins and bad shots of bright coins ,i never claimed that the it was silver and never changed the colour if I have ever lightened a coin its only so you can see it better .i am no expert in imaging but I tries me best

Absolutely beautiful image CudLee!
I can see the allure of the camera image.
But until I can find my coin legs, it will stick to my scanner.

Im with AA. Do you think you are experienced enough to tell mint lustre from 'shiny' CudLee? If yes and it is lustre you are seeing then the coin isn't polished.

Nice coin CudLee,die fill on a A & H on the obverse & IMO also slight die fill on the reverse, top 3 roo's as you mentioned earlier & on the big roo's paws.

I was going to be diplomatic and ignore this thread. however that is just not in my nature, I like to call a spade a spade Regardless of the way this coin is photographed via different angles and lighting It will NOT magically change it from being a polished coin This image is the clincher, the parallel lines and the displacement of the metal on the coin most certainly point to this coins true nature. There is no way known that this coin could have sustained so many hits, ding, and scratches and STILL retain a full mint lustre There is however what appears to be a small Cud on top of the"B" in ELIZEBETH

Hi trout1105 no need to be diplomatic with me ,it would annoy me if you didn't call a spade a spade noodled a couple of rolls of 2011's dollars yesterday and out of 40 coins only four were keepers still with minor scratches some of the others were worse than this coin ,this coin could have been circulated and been grabbed early explaining the luster? Finally why is there no wear on the queens head like there should be from a well worn circulated coin ,as you can see from image the queens head gets quite a battering and just wears out ,no buffing is going to bring the lost detail back

yeh bit of an extreme example don't keep any worn ones except for the 2000's but you can see how the head wears out ,mine shows none of this

lets just leave this at that let us agree to disagree You asked for an opinion and I gave you mine, all is good. If you don't like /agree with my opinion I don't have a problem with that But I won't change it because of different pics of the same coin. it normally takes me a few seconds to make an assessment of a coin and the first impressions tend to stay there

no worries trout thks for your input keep it coming I'm here to learn and have never heard of people buffing coins to make them look new , hence my coin holder still reads grease fill/weak strike/brasso buff
