It did not leave the USA mint this way ... but it is so interesting that I would keep it. I could make up some theories as to how this happened ... however suffice to say that your coin is PMD ... but a very fun and interesting example. Fatman Valued Member United States 362 Posts	Posted 03/24/2013 5:19 pm This penny looks remarkably similar to one I used as a spacer when painting a bicycle rear wheel nut and lock washer when I was 15 yrs old. Had to keep it off the table when spraying it, I remember that bike because it had a rear wheel disc brake. Report this Post to the Staff
