It was so shiny I pushed it aside thinking it was a newer date but the wheat caught my eye. Its the only red wheat I have.

Went to the bank and got 20 rolls of dimes today, luck was not on my side, as 8 of the rolls were machine wrapped and 8 of the rolls were all American and no silver. No finds today.

Went on a bank run this am and while waiting for the teller at TD to get me the 2 rolls they had I watched as a couple lined up at the coin counter. The guy was pulling out rolls of pennies and I asked if I could by them off him and he sold me 10 rolls - 5 bucks. when I finished with the teller I asked what else he had in the bag and he said it was just loose pennies from a big jar and 1 roll of nickels. I offered him 20 bucks but he said he thought it was more like 25 so I agreed if he gave me the bag and the roll of nickels. Off I went with 31 dollars worth of coin. He then pulled out a small bag of pennies out of his coat pocket and said he wasn't going to dump these and I could have them too, they were old he said. All KG and wheats.
I got home and the count was almost 40$ in pennies and the roll of nickels.first sort produced the following
50 american wheats oldest 1917D.

Just did a box of dimes. I don't know if I will be able to identify the sterling one, but I am happy to have it.

If it's sterling and not godless you can narrow it down between 1912 to 1919. They debased it slightly to .800 fine in 1920. Looks like you have a small leaves variety, which is used starting 1913, so you can narrow it down further

Went to the bank again, got 25 rolls of nickels and 10 rolls of dimes. Nickel wise, the oldest was a 1954, and a 1963. Approximately 1-2 nickel nickels per roll of nickels. In the 10 rolls of dimes, nothing was found (once again).

I've finished 20 rolls out of 50 in my box of nickels. All of them are machine wrapped, and the box has a stamp that says "Tim Horton's Children's Foundation". I was hoping to find older change that people would throw in the donate box. However, it is likely change that customers didn't want, which would have been already machine rolled. I'm basically looking at machine rolled coins that were opened, mixed up, and machine rolled again. So far: 1987 and 1988 in good shape. Oldest Canadian finds are 1964 and 1966, oldest American are 1939 and 1946. Also, I'm up 5 cents because there was a dime in the roll, as well as a 5 euro cent. At first I thought the '87 was a heavily circulated proof, but on second thought I don't think so. The pictures aren't good but here are the '80s nickels. The one from 1988 looks better than a lot of the 2011s I see:

That 1988 is a keeper, you are right , machine wrapped rolls can be weak for hunters.
