My mother got paid in a roll of loonies for something she sold, so I got to look through those. In that roll, I found two hole fillers for my date set: 2005 and 2010, leaving only two more dates that I need (1992 and 2016). The one from 2010 has some glue or tape residue on the reverse, so I am going to buy some acetone in a couple days to try to remove it.

Got a call from my Banker today. Someone cashed in their pennies and she has two boxes plus some extra rolls. I will pick them up tomorrow. I know what I will be doing this weekend

Hello Everyone... Not sure where to post this or if I have the right forum... but I will put it out there. I have been collecting coins for about 15 years (with the help of friends and family of course). By collecting, I mean hording - just over $1000 of "special edition" circulated coins. I have decided to cash them in and have started to roll them. From what I can tell, their value is still the same as the day I got them (maybe less because of the time value of money). Anyways, I plan to bring them to the closest branch but before I do, I wanted to reach out to the community and see if anyone is interested in hunting through them? Seems like a waste otherwise (perhaps a local may benefit). I have the following... $400 in $2.00 coins (8x$50 Rolls) $200 in $1.00 coins (8x$25 Rolls) $370 in $0.25 coins (37x$10 Rolls) $20 in $0.10 coins (4x$5 rolls) $2 in $0.05 coins (1x$2 roll) and some other loose $2.00 coins (about 20.00) see pics... Oh! almost forgot, I'm in the GTA! Thanks for your time and apologize in advance if this is not the correct forum...

Hi Oracom, to the forum! It is a little unfortunate but modern commemoratives are probably still worth face value today, except for uncommon/rare varieties. I still save my older coins and older commemoratives, but that's just me. If there are any pre-1982 nickels in that roll, their metal value is more than 5 cents so I would recommend saving them. Otherwise it's your call.

Hello everyone, I've just got bank from the banks. The first bank I went to I bought a box of quarters, I'll post the results later. I went to my second bank and asked if they had any pennies/cents they had 4 rolls and 25 loose, so I bought those and also asked if they had anything else, old or interesting. My teller said she had this envelop with $12.40 in "mutilated" coins, she opened it up to show me and much to my surprise there was a laureated dime looking at me Of course I said I'll take it! Upon further inspection the dime was a 1963, but that wasn't the only item of interest in this envelop There was also a George V quarter in the mix The date is hard to see but it is a 1934!! Let's see what the box holds!

Well I finished that box of $500 in quarters, but before I get to that, I guess that I was so excited to have found 2 silvers in that envelop that I forgot to also mention what else was in there. There was also a 1987 UK 20 pence & a 1961 twelve-sided nickel. I also picked up $2.25 (4 rolls, 25 loose) pennies and this is what I found in them: USA - 10 Copper USA - 3 (no wheaties) Canadian Copper: 1990 - 1996: 34 1982 - 1989: 45 1980 - 1981: 11 1965 - 1979: 14 1953 - 1964: 3 1951 - 1 In the box of quarters unfortunately no silver but I did find 5 1973 RCMP quarters (I save them for a friend, no large bust) and I found 27 USA quarters composed of: ATB - 2 50 States - 15 Bicentennial - 2 Regular issue - 8 I've got the entire collection of 50 State Quarters in BU condition as well as I'm up to date on the ATBs and I've already got a nice bicentennial in my folders, I just keep the American coins for use for when I go on vacation in the USA, I've been saving all American change since 2008 and have a pretty good stash

Nice find from the bank with those two coins! Still hoping to score some silver from a bank but no luck so far. Took back some nickel dollars the other day and the teller had no idea what they were.

Just found a 1951 King George VI silver dime yesterday coin roll hunting dimes! This is my first KGVI silver dime. I have found 10 or so silver dimes, but they were all QEII's and American silver dimes.

I was thinking of starting to search loonies. Do any of you search these? do you actually find anything decent?
