Picked up 16 rolls of pennies at the bank today. Not a significant haul but it marks a couple milestones. Crossed the 300k small cents searched barrier which has been on my radar for a while now. (300,700 searched to date). Older Canadian finds include: 1953, 1956, 1957, 1958, and 1959(3). Also found a 1996 2 Euro Cent, a plastic "school money" token, and a 1976/1966 Barbados Commemorative 1 Cent marking 10 years of independence. Before dumping my coins at TD I found one of the teller's access card on the sidewalk in front of the bank which I turned in. Perhaps that accounted for my good karma (and my second milestone). As soon as I started searching I was seeing a larger mix of coins from the 70's, 80's and 90's and I just had this weird feeling I was going to find a 1985 pointed 5. Low and behold I think I did find one which is a first for me and a long time in coming.

Nice!Easy to see in this pic how those coil roll machines scar up the end coins. I see one of the recent flag quarters just below the'68.Haven't seen one yet in circulation around here.

It is unfortunate. Many a good coin got boogered up by those machines. My 1943D Jefferson was an ender and had a touch of damage. And one of my 1950D Jefferson had a couple light witness marks. It wasn't an ender when I got it, but the damage was there.
I hope there was some extra silver in the lot! Happy hunting!

Nice silver ender! I always strike out with machine rolls except twice, so it's nice to know someone is finding keepers from them.

I think its a different company, I find those every once in a while, along with US coins as well. This is in a different wrap than the regular Churchill or Garda world wrap, its very distinctive.

There was no other silver in the box and there was about $6 in US.

Cliffracer, if you have not found any silver, then the only thing to do is more. I spent a year or so doing maybe a couple of hundred dollars in dimes and quarters a week. I found nothing. in fact the first silver coin I found wasn't even a Canadian dime or quarter. it was a USA silver War Nickel. get that. You need to do volume, return the dumps, and repeat. some weeks I only get a dollar but some I get over 10 of silver.

not ordering boxes, but my pick up banks know me and put the CWR aside for me to buy. The Churchhill or Gardaworld wrapped boxes have nothing newer than 2001, so I don't even try these.

I am sorry I don't have a picture, but I think they are very similar in design, the white machine wrapped rolls with the colored edges. I normally stay away from these like the plague.
I am not 100% sure of the process, but somehow, these rolls normally have nothing older than 2001. I cant imagine then opening all the rolls and hand searching all them to remove the nickel coins. I could see them using a magnet to pull out (or leave behind) silver and USA coinage.
That's my opinion anyway.
