Searched another half box of pennies today. Found a couple wheat cents and a couple George VI's. Threw out 2 of my old penny books because I was worried they may contain PVC. Ordering a few more new ones to fill up and maybe sell.

Are you serious $40 a roll! Who pays that much? That's almost $1 a coin! Do you mean the last million penny rolls?

If the Adieu rolls make almost $50, surely unlabeled BU 2012 rolls will at least break $10... I'd be happy to at least exchange a nickel roll for one... (assuming it still has the shrink wrap and everything)

Well...$40 a roll for standard uncirculated rolls is high. Ovr the past 2 months full boxes have been selling for around $130 a box (50 rolls). In my area...I have personally seen rolls of both magnetic and non-magnetic 2012 cents sell anywhere from $4 - $10 each. If you can get $40 a roll...the more power to you. Jut one thing. Be sure NOT to misrepresent the rolls as Farewell to the penny rolls. You will sell them easy enough. Even you you advertsie them on Craig's List.

I was joking about the original high price.
But I have seen them sell for $8 recently.

@o-train: Cool random finds. I seem to find a lot of 20 euro cents in my penny rolls. But I've also found coins from Trinidad & Tobago as well as Ethiopia, Libya, the Canary Islands and the UK. Finished searching through my latest penny haul, highlights are: 38 mint rolls of 2012s, a handful of older AUish looking pennies (2x1964, 1963, 1967 2x1971, 1972, 1976 and 1981), and two wheats (1952D & 1958D). Also, reached a cool . Finished a complete roll of Centennial pennies.

Good stuff nicelphr33k. I finished my rolls from 1997-2012 today. 2012 was the hardest for me to complete. Went through my 1960-1964 and 1967 to put them into rolls and count them. It's interesting to see how mintages compare to how many you find in circulation. 1960 - 19, 1961 - 57, 1962 - 105, 1963 - 139, 1964 - 267. Of those 33 are better grade coins (26 are 1964). For 1967 - 207 including 24 red/mostly red cents. Next will be the 1950's. No clue about the numbers for 1965, 1966 and 1968-1996. Those coins are all together but at least 100+ for each year except maybe 1966 which might be between 50-100.

Both the scales I ordered arrived today. Weighed out all the pennies that I have in heavy-duty plastic bags. So far I've pulled 125lbs of copper (taking into consideration 95 and 98% copper composition). I started doing this after the penny was taken out of circulation. I can't imagine how much someone would have if they were consistently pulling copper pennies for even a year while they were still circulating. Will also be working on weighing and sorting the 1982 American cents with the 0.01g scale. Picked up 8 dollars worth of pennies at the bank today. That's all they've gotten in lately so I'll be going through those later. Also got a HMCS Shannon toonie and 2 mint rolls of Laura Secord quarters. I cracked one of the rolls to fill up my 1812 coin holders and am keeping the other one intact. The teller at RBC gave me a 1942 cent that she had found and said she will save any interesting coins she finds for me :).
