Yeah...some really beautiful coins, and many are quite a bargain too.   This was my big purchase--my Athens tetradrachm.

Rarely see such fine examples for sale, so dished out $1050 on the 16th March 2007 from Beast Coins for this: Coin: AV Histamenon Byzantine Emperors Basil II & Constantine VIII, 967-1025 A.D. Obverse: + IhS XIS REX REGNANTInm, Bust of Christ, facing, wearing a nimbus cross, ornamented with two crescents in the limbs of the cross, holding the book of Gospels and raising his right hand in Benediction. Reverse: + bASIL C COnStAntI b Rm, crowned, facing busts of Basil II, with a short beard, on the left, wearing a Loros of square pattern, Manus Dei above, and Constantine VIII, beardless, on the right, wearing a Chlamys, holding a plain cross between them. Weight: 4.40 g, Dimensions: 25 x 24 x 0.5 mm, Die axis: 180° Mint: Constantinople, struck between 1005-1025 A.D. Reference: SB 1800

MetDet71 I found it detecting in Dorset , one of my best detecting moments . You seem to do very well yourself , some great roman sites you have .

Oh my...some of these coins. I think I am drooling.
I want to comment on every one but it would just turn into the same comment I fear.
One day I will have one of those Owl tetra's and a gold coin! I may have to save up for awhile but I am still young!

One of the best smackdowns so far. So many beautiful coin, very hard to pick.
Gold - Anoob's - first Meris, one of my favorite types. Silver - Masis - Basil II. Bronze - Eddop's Carinus Aureus.

Yea this Smackdown had some serious serious coins... It was difficult to choose the top 3. GOLD- Martin - Phillip II of Macedon Tetradrachm - Go Amphipolis Mint!  SILVER- ENG - Attic Standard - Mother of All Ancient coins  BRONZE- FVRIVS RVFVS - Trajan Brass As - Stunning portireture.
