Let me know if there is any other type of picture I can take that may help. I would love to learn what to look for when determining authenticity and so any more information about it would be appreciated.

Excellent photography - showed everything there was to show! Thats a first. Unfortunately, its a fake. Its got a big seam where the mould joined together. Design style was a little suspect but the seam really sealed the deal.

Ive no idea what it is copying - its something Judaean - perhaps a prutah?

EDIT: Thought Id add - condition is also suspect. Perfectly flat with an odd flan. doesn't bode well either.

Thanks for the quick responses. I don't have a collection of world coins yet, so I figure I'll keep it since I got it as a penny in change anyways. :)

It's one of these - a pseudo-replica of an ancient Judaean coin. The use of "modern" script is the telltale sign that these are indeed modern replicas.
