Lol I didnt think this would be the head scratcher of all my submissions. I did a lot of reasearch before ai bought this, despite hard to find info on these. I was confident it was real. I ve also taken it to a few coin shops. Most had no idea but those who did thought it to be genuine. One even made me an offer which I declined. Its my first coin from the colonial era and I plan on showing it to my kids someday. Id like to take it to a show someday, perhaps get a CoA or something. The extremly light weight inspite of the wear was a identifier. The fakes were always way light. Also where the tail of hair starts in relation to the letter E on the obverse. Genuine Britsh coppers have it starting about level with the top of the top serif. On the imitations the tail start almost level with the bottom serif. Ill try to gather some pics for comparision and start a thread if anyone is interested. It hard to tell with the damage but in hand I can see enough for me to believe.
