This is both a giveaway and a contest and there's a bit of a twist. To be eligible all you have to do is say you want in. On April 1 I will hold a drawing to give away 5 dateless Buffalo nickels to 5 different people selected at random from anyone that wishes to take part. The twist is that you don't get to keep the nickels, you have to place them in circulation.  But that's only round one. These five first round winners will need to report back by within a week of receiving the nickels and tell us how they placed the nickels into circulation. (Sorry, but entrants are limited to US residents, although I would consider any Canadians bold enough to try and use these nickels in Canada.) The most creative will win this nice 1964 JFK half that I pulled from circulation years ago.  The whole point is to spread interest in coins. I'd like to think that by placing Buffalo nickels into circulation we are getting new people interested in coin collecting. So, anyone want in? |

A bit of clarification; Each first round winner will receive five nickels; which means I'll send out a total of 25 Buffs. I hope this will provide for more options in putting them into circulation (And it will put more into circulation, which is kind of the point.) I glad to see there's so much interest already.  3/22 Edit: Also, in order to have the drawing on April 1 the entry deadline will need to be midnight on March 31. I did not set a minimum number of posts for entrants, and I won't, but I'd like the members that enter to be active. So, theFlask, welcome.
