@SoulBrotherNo3:

I not feel hate to this coin.
But, without saying it first, I agree with the people - the depiction of the Eagle makes association with the cartoonish chicken head.

I see the symbolism here (on the coin) of the power, bravery...
but I also want to see :

Platinum $300 was nice, Platinum fraction series was excellent as well as 50 cent Silver series. Even small 50 cent Gold coin (1/25oz) looks beter (just different angle - Eagle turns his head) - this is missed here.

And the Eagle on this 1oz coin looks weird - IMO

@PrinceD11:

The allocation for MC is sold out (according to site)
Same as for previous "hot" releases (GB, Penny Set, etc...):

At midnight, not later, (EST) on the Public Release day start to check RCM website and the Dealers: CC&C, Gatewest, JM, Colonial Acres (not sure) - and for sure you will be able to order your coin for issue price.

I would rather be sitting on a bunch of eagle coins than those tree canopy coins. Eagles will sell much more easily

And which do you prefer to leave for yourself?

And about resell:
Take "O Canada 1oz" set RCM box, fill it with the Canopy series plus SML in the center - I think it will sell better then bunch of Eagle coins.

With so many people hating the eagle, then less of them will be hoarded. Like elkslayer132 said, less competition is good news when the second eagle coin comes. For example, people are buying 3,4,5,6+ of the tree canopy coin. Guess what, then the glut of supply will depress prices.

@ silveroid. I don't think you hate this coin. Sorry if it came across that way.

I have just seen a lot of negative talk (maybe by flippers who didn't get on board with the fast sell out, who knows?) about this coin. I say give it a chance until you see it. From the description, it's going to be frosted with intricate details for the white feathers. Sounds like a real nice finish.
Remember, this is a cameo shot (like the queen on the other side). Other coins will be of the full eagle in various action shots or poses.
Should anyone be surprised it's popular? It's a bald eagle, the symbol of the United States of America. If it was a Nuthatch....oh wait, bad example. Point being, this is probably the most popular and recognizable bird in the world.

Totally agree that the eagle series will turn out to be great. Birds and coins have historically been a big hit and I see no reason this one won't too. I ordered 3.

BTW, some of us even remember when a having a screaming chicken on the hood of your 6.6L Trans Am was pretty darn cool. Don't hate the chicken!

Ordered one at my local PO, btw in my view the main reason the eagle is sold out (apparently) is because people in the US love them bald eagles and because they have that edge lettering.
In my view the canopy tree coin will become more popular once the fall one comes out, (hope it looks beautiful)

The eagle coin looks bad. Perhaps the frosting effect will make it look better in hand, but so far, just the image chosen by the mint is poor. Why not choose a more noble, elegant and powerful effigy?

The canopy looks to be the winner between these two, however for our American friends, the eagle will be a sure hit, due to the symbolism. I'm hoping for much better coins in this eagle series.

And on a side note....why is everything becoming a "series" with the mint? I know its a marketing ploy....but comon...almost every new coin out is part of a series

Canopy hands down.

The eagle coin is too basic
