I agree fully @royalsilver. I didn't mind the annual series, but now they are pumping things out on a monthly basis, it's just too much. I started collecting with the Olympic series in 1976 and have done so every Olympics since. Then, in 1998, the Zodiac series was easy at 1 coin a year, and I've continued that into the most recent Zodiacs... but now there are two plain and scalloped. Why? Simply to get you hooked to purchase more and more. If this isn't a "a marketing ploy" I don't know what is. I think I've pretty much had it. If every coin transgresses into a series, it is just way too much.
Besides, I blew my 2013 budget on the Hoard of Gold from 1912-1914.

Just to clarify....this is what a chicken head looks like... After close examination....I don't see the resemblance to this new eagle coin...

I think the 2000 silver 50 cent coin (as posted above by SilverBug) is a better depiction of a Bald Eagle. I sort of think the beak is proportionately too small on the new coin. Sea eagles, of which the Bald Eagle is one, tend to have massive bills.

Not the beauty as posted above (50 cent), but now available for all on the CC&C site for the issue price and unavailable on RCM.

I think what people really want is a chicken coin....... So many first in a series this year. I might cut it back to one of each just to keep up with all the new ones.

The eagle coin is not on Gatewest's site. Every other coin is.

Quote: The eagle coin is not on Gatewest's site. Every other coin is. But I wrote - Canadian Coin and Currency - the Eagle is there. Except this, is also listed on the Gatewest as "We are unable to offer this item for sale at this time." But it there.

The owner needs to work on website design. But it is good that he has it. Not easy to be competitor of the big dealers.
Will put it in the favorites...thanks, Rockdaddy
