I found a Half Cent in the parking lot at the grocery store where I shop. Wanted to post a pic of it here but have misplaced it somewhere. (it was a perfectly halved Lincoln Memorial cent!, LOL)

good finds. Yeah I think in spring when the snow melts there are alot of coins. Also, in the winter when people where gloves.

Found a US$ 5.00 bill in the gutter. This was on a busy side street near an artsy-poofia section of town.

Nice find Parklane. I have bad luck with paper money. Found 60 bucks by an atm machine once though when I was 10. Seemed like more money then.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned the movie theater! I managed a theater for a few years and one of my favorite Friday nite routines was to turn on all the work lights after the last film and last employee left and grab a flash light and just go row by row, theater by theater. On average I would find anywhere from $5 to $20 a night. Phones, iPods, wallets, car keys, gloves, etc... ALWAYS got placed in lost and found but loose change and bills were up for grabs.
Still, as an average movie goer, check your row and seats! Don't just listen to the movie either, listen for all the change that falls out DURING the movie! :)

rking007, cool that found that much money! I'd have a hard time convincing my wife though that I would search for coins before, during, or after a movie. Cool finds. Did you find any collectible coins and any silver coins?

Check on top of the coin-op boxes at the car wash. People put their change on top of the box for quick access while washing, then after they're done, drive off and forget it there! Also, walk facing west through a normally busy parking lot in the evening near sunset (or walk facing east near sunrise in the morning). Any coins on the ground will gleam with the reflection of the sky, even dull pennies.

So, it uploaded my picture, but removed all the text. Hmm... What I said was... I saw a girl walking into the bank the other day.. She dropped a nickel and 2 pennies. She looked at them, and walked away. What? you want ME to have your seven cents? Dont mind if I do! This is my coin purse. My great Grandpa had one when I was a kid and I thought it was MAGICAL how he could open and close it so quickly without having his fingers taken off. Apparently I had never touched it and thought it was sharp. Oh, to be so innocent again.
