I think, for some of the coins Limit of 1 will be removed on the Public release.
What could be sold out before the General Public release - Niobium coin and Dyno.

Well folks, I guess I've been forgiven...

I received the email from my rep this morning.

This release has some interesting and attractive looking coins, but coming so close to the last release, I can't imagine that the average collector (those with a fixed budget for coins) will be able to spring for too many (if any).

I will just be receiving one each of of my subscription coins.

I believe this release and the general reaction so far (also on RFD forum) clearly illustrates how "out of control" the RCM is with the myriad of new issues coming out with such frequency.

This opinion appears to be substantiated by the results of the extremely scientific poll I posted here last week. To date (maybe forever), 64% of members here feel that "the increasing number of different coins in a given year" will have an Adverse effect on the future of NCLT collecting. Only 17% feel it will have a Positive effect, while 19 % believe it will have No effect.

You can still vote here if you haven't already:

Personally, I'm glad to see the limit reduced to 1 for advance orders. Maybe a positive sign of responsiveness from the RCM to concerns raised in some of these forums?

These limits are a joke the coins are not that nice that they need limits if they keep this up they will lose a lot of customers I can get multiples of any coin from many different sources I don't need to buy from the mint I am doing them a favour by using them.

You correct here.
But if you want to buy only single coin - why not from RCM? And for additional - from the other sources.
That way you will have more then one coin and still will maintain your MC status.
I mean in the other words - nothing really changed, I believe with the public release, they will increase the limit.

I really don't see anything too exciting here. I'm possibly getting bronze and the Louisbourg silver. If those approach sell out at the mint, I may order them.

Otherwise, I will buy them and the others that I need (Go7, Specimen set, 1/25 gold) from a dealer; get the coin faster and get a small discount. RCM's customer service is so bad, I will only buy directly from them if I think the coin will sell out before dealers have them.

As for the limits, the same rationale applies. They only mean something if the coin sells out in MC pre-release. And even then, there is a high probability that they would be available from dealers (esp. Canada Post) with no limits.

Kind of silly for the Mint to impose limits when their dealers sell with no limits. Effectively, the mint is giving dealers their profits...which may be the point (infamous 'supporting the secondary market' theory).

On my side, only the bronze allegory and silver Louisbourg is interesting, the rest is not relevant... How much Maple Leaf coins they will release this year!! The niobium coins is too expensive, nobody will want to buy this a 140+tx...

The limit of 1 is not solid.

It really depends on your relationship with your rep.

You can order more than the limit.

The people who are hurt most by this one coin limit are the Mint reps. They earn their money by commission, so the less coins they sell, the less they earn.

I never thought about the commissions on the part of the reps.
