I know the mintmark took a hit, but this looks like it has a couple of split upper serifs which got me pretty excited. Looked on coppercoins and no pictures, didn't match any description on Wexler list. Upon close examination there seems to be a lot of lines going fairly parallel to what I see as splits in the serif. Is this an rpm or is it something related to the striations in the field?

This one looks like die flow is affecting your coin. The same direction is my first clue.

Thanks coop. So maybe I am learning a little bit. Proper term is "die flow"?

You got it. You see this on coins in the LDS-VLDS die states. They usually show wear on the outside devices facing the rim.
